The Ladies of Lawrence County Junior Auxiliary are committed to serving women, children, and families in our community through a variety of service projects such as the ones listed here.

Annual Saturday cooking class to teach children how to prepare healthy snacks for themselves. Children make snacks at a number of booths and take home their snacks, an apron, and cookbook of healthy snacks for kids. (Scheduled: February 5, 2011)
Annual all day event hosted for children and parents, with numerous booths of information for parents and children such as Ident-A-Kid, Vision Booth, Kindergarten Prep Booth, and numerous games for children. (Scheduled: August 14, 2010)
Workshop for young girls that teaches table manners, etiquette, self-esteem, exercise, healthy eating habits, and more. Each girl receives a take-home bag of goodies from each lesson.

Ladies of JA provide a tote bag full of necessities and comfort items for children entering the DCS system. Often children enter foster care with nothing and this bag provides hygiene items, pajamas, books, stuffed animals, etc.
Junior Auxiliary Lawrence County provides a sack full of weekend long meals to children who otherwise will not be able to eat during the weekends. This program will continue another community program ('Backpack Club') for children moving from Ingram Sowell to E.O. Coffman Middle School and is done in cooperation with the Second Harvest Food Bank.
JA of Lawrence County is proud to partner with our area school programs with involvement in Snack Sacks, Stuff the Bus schools supplies drive, Youth Suicide Awareness/Prevention Courses,Junior Jacks and Little Jacks.
Throughout the year, JA of Lawrence County members provide supplies and give time to the FUMC Food Pantry, Women's Shelter, Senior Citizens Christmas, Relay for Life, and other events. We also sponsor a scholarship program for an adult learner in our community each year.
JA of Lawrence County selects one to two families annually that we can support by providing basic needs for children (i.e. school supplies, winter coats, education fees, etc.) that cannot be financially provided for by parents/family.
Junior Auxiliary is an association of different Chapters, with each Chapter acting individually, with the exception of the National Service Project. The National Service Project, required by all Chapters to utilize, is the Child Welfare Project. Our Chapter chose to designate this project as the Focus Family. The objective of this project is to break the cycle of dependency, whether it be physical or emotional. The chapter must maintain full administrative responsibility and meet two basic requirements:
