BECOMING A JA MEMBER
We are excited about your interest in becoming a Junior Auxiliary member!
Membership is extremely important to us and we are always eager to hear from individuals interested in our mission and in joining Junior Auxiliary. Membership involves an invitation and sponsorship by a member of the chapter. JA members range from business professionals, teachers, stay-at-home moms, to community leaders. JA strives to maintain a diverse group of volunteers from the community that the Chapter serves.
Membership if a Junior Auxiliary Chapter can offer a number of benefits including:
- Developing leadership skills by chairing a service or finance project
- Advancing business and professional contacts
- EFFECTIVELY CHANGING THE COMMUNITY
Through Junior Auxiliary’s service projects, a JA member can have significant impact on the quality of life in its community. There are 101 Chapters in the Southeast with over 13,000 members, who each make significant contributions to the quality of life in their communities.
- MEMBERSHIP IN JUNIOR AUXILIARY IS BY INVITATION ONLY
To qualify for membership in the Junior Auxiliary of Lawrence County, a prospective member must:
- A woman who is at least twenty-one years of age and who has been a resident of Lawrence County, Tennessee for one year may be considered eligible for membership.
- A candidate must apply in September by completing an application to the Board.
A candidate must be proposed in writing by one member and seconded by two others. Only Active, Associate Active, and Life Active members in good standing may propose candidates for membership
Annual Membership Dues:
Active members - $60
Associate members - $40
Provisional Members - $25
Monthly Meetings
Meeting Place: First United Methodist Church on Waterloo Street, upstairs in our JA Room
Meeting time: JALC Chapter meets 7:00pm on the first Monday.
